Acorn Cup Mud Spiral

We have finally managed to get out and do some land art, the winter months are not the easiest to get out there and do something, and we tend to go out for walks getting inspiration and enjoying the fresh air. Richard has been busy making sculptures from ice in the very cold spell we had in December and I will post a couple of those in the next few days or so.

Getting back to the present we had a great day doing land art in Tythe Barn Wood, a private wood that we are lucky to have access to, it is always very peaceful. I found a little acorn cup amongst the pile of brown leaves on the ground and it was the only one I could find. I collected some mud in our lunch box tub, added some water to make it more fluid then dipped the little acorn cup in the mud to make little mud circles as you can see. There are so many more things you can do with this type of land art, I am definitely going to give it a go and try more patterns etc, maybe make a leaf pattern using dried leaves and mud.
